Photoshop, 2013

These are both the covers for some ebooks that my husband and I recently completed and an advertisement of the fact that they are now on sale for $2.99 each! Amazon Prime members can read them for free, and there is no DRM on any of these works. Share all you want, but if it’s possible and you enjoyed them we’d love if you could kick a little cash our way.

To the surprise of no one who reads this blog, all three of these stories involve humans—or, in one case, an elf—getting into consensual sexy situations with monsters. They are each standalone stories that use different characters and plots, and all three include content warnings in their summaries to help reduce the Unwanted Ick that can bubble up when reading somebody else’s porn. These conveniently double as “spoilers” for people who are into some of the acts included…

Check them out at the Verity Kenning author page!

Signal boosts appreciated!

Realized I STILL hadn’t posted these up. Blimey.

This was some last-minute art I did for the “Playing Doctor” issue of Shousetsu Bang*Bang and the first time I illustrated a story I didn’t write myself! That honor goes to the lovely shukyou (who idly asked on Twitter if anyone felt like doing some art, and I figured, why not?); you can read the story that inspired these pieces here! Typical disclaimer applies: explicit M/M sex lies beyond.

For doing everything in what amounted to a weekend of mad panic I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. I had fun putting everyone in horrifyingly 70s attire without going for any jokes that were overly easy.

In my head, I like to think the fellow on the stretcher got stuck there during the promo shoot, so they just staged all the photos around him. The “can you believe this shit?” expression is only partially staged! They also tend to pair the lady doctor touching or otherwise closely interacting with the nurse in production stills, which no doubt inspired its own shared space in certain comb-bound fic collections next to the Starsky and Hutch hurt/comfort.

Fans have been doing this a long time, y’all.

Just playing around and trying something new! More blue and gold, and more of the increasingly-less-one-shot pair introduced earlier.

I tried not to spend forever on this and it STILL took me all day. Ouch, my hands. The lettering is the result of doing typesetting with the text tool, then tracing over it with a brush tool so it looked properly organic. I really like how the “Kirby dot” effect turned out!

I redrew this on larger paper to use as my layout sketches but ended up just upsizing my thumbnails instead. Funny how that works.

Booty-callin’ wizard guy has quickly endeared himself to me, much to my irritation.

The text reads “SoOoOoOo…what are you wearing…?” in the event my rusty brush pen skills have rendered the lettering illegible.

A Little Bit of Nothing #1

Thunder boomed as a grand silhouette stood in the doorway to Weyrwen’s tower. A fully-armed orcish warrior strode into the wizard’s receiving chamber and shook out his rain-wet mane. Weyrwen himself waited on the stairs, one hand resting on the banister and another clutching his trusty scrying orb.

“Yawsk Ironback, called the Bloody, do you know why you have been summoned?” he asked. Yawsk grunted.

“Yeah. You sent me a booty call at two in the morning. We gonna fuck or what?”

And so they did.

InDesign, 2010

A faux flyer for a D&D campaign. It is totally not a thieves’ guild, y’all.

Click to read more; this was an utter bear to try to export into anything halfway legible for reasons I don’t entirely understand.

Well, it happened again. I have no idea if being the Evil Twitter Genie is a thing or not, but I’m glad to be drawing stuff and posting it!

Did I do this right?

This was a piece I was able to rush out just in time to meet the Tea for Two issue of Shousetsu Bang*Bang! This issue is dedicated specifically to F/F relationships, so people who need a break from weiners will hopefully find something fun to read.

I rather like how the monochrome turned out here. Was able to finish the whole thing in about four hours!

Unsorted doodles, mostly exploring variations on an oni’s head with a bit of a changeling sorceress at the bottom, taken straight from a sheet of paper on my clipboard. I think the detail on the upper-left head is the strongest, here, but there’s plenty of experimenting to go.

Leene is pretty fun, too, since her costumes are intentionally ghastly 90s fantasy anime fare.  Stars and gems and shoulder pads!
